POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Qcells is seeking an experienced Interconnect Power System (IPS) (PV and Battery) Design and Engineering Developer to lead Qcells entry into the New Homes space with EPC & financing services. You will be part of the new homes Design and Engineering team, creating and developing systems and sales, contractors while working with homebuilders and dealers when applicable. This role is pivotal in integrating Enfin's financing solutions into new residential projects, ensuring that our offerings align seamlessly with the needs of the modern homebuilder. This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager's discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain community design deliverables required for new homes' interconnected power systems.
  • Build associated design deliverables required for lot-specific design conditions associated with new homes' interconnected power systems.
  • Create efficiencies in the new home design environments that leverage CAD, BIM, cloud, and on-demand computing resources.
  • Utilize QCells/EnFin CRM tools to develop and maintain a new home's Bill of Materials tool set.
  • Interact with the Business Development team to provide technical sales support, including but not limited to design renderings, PV layouts, and system sizing.
  • Establish and maintain PV production modeling tools aligned with QCells and EnFin goals and requirements.
  • Create and maintain QA/QC logic for and related to all design deliverables.
  • Construct and monitor a database to track Utility and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
  • Form procedural and training documentation related to new homes' design deliverables.
  • Assist in team hiring and management, and lead team in the Vice President's absence or departure.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party contractors, professional engineers, and industry vendors.
  • Assist in contract negotiation scopes with outside contractors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, architecture or other related field with a minimum of 8 years' professional work experience, including 5+ years' experience in residential new homes solar development.
  • NABCEP Design and or Installer certification.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regional codes.
  • Deep understanding of the homebuilding solar industry and its market dynamics.
  • Ability to ideate, develop and execute strategic plans, in close collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced customer-centric environment where priorities may change quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, team management, graphic and CAD design skills, and account management, including managing multiple contractors.
  • Impeccable attention to detail as well as a detailed analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems and adjust to changing conditions and situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas, vision and strategy in internal and external forums.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.
