Senior Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design layout of grading, street improvements, and underground facilities within FEI design standards, agency processing requirements, and client expectations.
• Perform complex design tasks and solve major design problems.
• Develop design concepts and standards under the direction of the Manager.
• Coordinate with governmental agencies and act as a design resource for team members.
• Train and coach junior team members to contribute to their professional growth.
• Prepare cost estimates, develop schedules, and coordinate the design team's work with the Manager.
• Prepare technical reports and calculations (hydrology, hydraulics, sewer capacity, earthwork, water demand, etc.).
• Ensure work/design is of high quality, cost-effective, and meets agency standards.
• Supervise Interns, Associate Engineers, Designers, and Engineers; assist in maintaining the project schedule.
• Coordinate staffing needs with the Manager.
• Serve as a design resource and leader for the team in the absence of the Manager.
• Assist the Manager with proposal, schedule, and "extras" preparation.
• Initiate, implement, and promote new ideas and procedures.
• Provide surveyors with staking plans and help resolve construction discrepancies.
• Provide construction support and develop responses to RFIs.
• Provide subordinate team members with complete information and criteria for work completion.
• Provide training opportunities for team members' professional development.
• Determine plan or report format and complete necessary documentation for the design package.
• Assist the Manager in processing plans for approval.
• Ensure punctuality and regular attendance.

• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, LDD, and/or Civil 3D software.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $122000.00/yr.
