Job Description

Our Managing Directors (MD) are key leaders that drive the success and shape of Sia as a firm. They play an integral role in Sales, Account Management & Client Delivery, and Governance reporting directly to Sia Experience. As a key driver in the sales of new business and origination of new revenue, MDs join our firm with an ability to leverage their rich network of connections that translate into new clients and sales for our firm. They also possess the ability to further that network to deepen existing relationships while cultivating new ones.

Responsibilities

Strategy Leadership & Vision Setting
  • Set and evolve the strategic vision for client work across brand, campaign, and content initiatives-ensuring strategies are rooted in audience insight, business context, and cultural relevance
  • Identify what needs to happen to realize strategic goals, including the right people to involve, the key inputs to uncover, and the path from insight to action
  • Translate evolving client needs, market dynamics, and audience behaviors into clear, actionable pivots that keep our work relevant and high-impact
  • Lead the development of integrated strategic narratives, guiding how brands show up across channels and how they connect with their audiences in meaningful ways
  • Maintain a working knowledge of media strategy and channel performance to ensure strategic recommendations are actionable and media-smart

Audience Strategy & Insight Development
  • Own the audience strategy function-synthesizing research, cultural signals, brand truths, and business objectives into sharp, insight-driven direction
  • Extract powerful audience insights and translate them into brand, campaign, and content opportunities
  • Serve as the internal advocate for the audience, ensuring all work is anchored in how people think, feel, and behave across channels and moments
  • Be able to evolve strategies based on performance and real-time learning, identifying when to pivot and how to refine based on what's resonating

Client Partnership & Delivery
  • Lead day-to-day client engagements with a strategic lens, building trusted relationships across client organizations
  • Ensure work is delivered with clarity, purpose, and cohesion-partnering with project management, creative, and other teams to drive excellence
  • Mentor junior strategists and cross-functional team members, helping elevate thinking and strategic rigor across the board
  • Connect the dots across brand, campaign, content, and media to create holistic, channel-aware strategies

Thought Leadership & Business Contribution
  • Contribute to Sia's intellectual capital through thought leadership, frameworks, and internal tools that sharpen our thinking and reputation
  • Represent the strategy discipline in new business conversations and firm-building initiatives; support proposal development with strategic insight and storytelling
  • Manage a strategic book of business (~$1.5M in revenue) and support organic and new revenue growth through strong client relationships and strategic visioning

Practice & Firm Leadership
  • Serve as a core member of the Sia Experience leadership team, contributing to practice direction, talent development, and overall culture
  • Actively participate in recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and the development of junior talent
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and support teams to continuously evolve the Sia Experience offering and approach


Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of consulting and/or agency experience with 5 years of team management and business development / sales origination experience
  • Growth focused sales professional with proven track record of exceeding personal revenue goals through exceptional client delivery
  • Desire to build an opportunity with an organization that fosters their entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proven track record of originating sales pursuits and closing sales, creating solutions to complex business programs, operational excellence, and strong understanding of consultative sales approach
  • Versatile strategic thinker with experience across multiple industries including luxury retail, sports, CPG, financial services, and more
  • Exceptional storytelling and narrative development skills with ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations
  • Strong cross-sector expertise with demonstrated ability to transfer insights between different industry contexts
  • Drive profitability and position for continued growth and expansion
  • Ability to drive relationships within C-Suite and other senior executives to understand their organizational needs and recommend solutions that add value to their business
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree required in business or related field; advanced degrees welcome
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
  • Based in NYC, able to go into the office 5x a week, and eligible to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

New York compensation for this opportunity ranges between $150,000 and $225,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Office Workplace Guidelines

Sia provides a flexible workplace environment tailored to meet client and business needs. Managing Directors are expected to work from the office full time, five days per week. This reflects the critical leadership role Managing Directors play in driving our business, fostering collaboration and strengthening client relationships.
