Job Description
The Senior Director Environmental, Health and Safety is responsible for ensuring that environmental and employee health and safety standards are met across the organization. This role involves developing and implementing measures to protect the environment, conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and educating employees on health and safety practices. The role supports Takeda's mission by ensuring sustainable business operations and a safe working environment.
How you will contribute:
* Develop and implement measures to protect the environment and ensure sustainable business operations
* Conduct safety audits and identify workplace hazards and hazardous conditions
* Investigate employee and environmental accidents and recommend corrective actions
* Educate and train employees in workplace and environmental health and safety
* Manage multiple teams led by Senior Managers and Managers, providing strategic guidance
* Shape corporate policies and provide guidance to directors and senior managers
* Interact with executive leadership on matters of significance to the organization
Skills and qualifications:
* Holds a certification as a Safety Professional and applies occupational hygiene principles independently in moderately complex situations
* Certified Industrial Hygienist who can conduct audits independently, understanding auditing principles deeply
* Manages hazardous materials with a certification and minimal guidance in complex scenarios
* Applies ISO 14000 Series standards effectively in environmental management
* Ensures regulatory compliance independently in various operational contexts
* Recognized as an expert in strategic influence, capable of developing initiatives and coaching others
* Utilizes Continuous Improvement Process principles independently, with a strong grasp of the concepts
* Applies environmental science knowledge effectively in project and program management
* Delivers safety training with a comprehensive understanding of preventive protocols
* Demonstrates leadership by guiding multiple teams and influencing strategic decisions at a global level
As a strategic leader overseeing multiple functional areas, divisions, or product groups through directors and managers, with global or multi-country-level responsibility. You will shape corporate policies, provide guidance to directors and senior managers, and hold a recognized influential position. Your decisions impact the success of the division, group, company, or corporation, and you may sit on a leadership team, directly influencing the overall business strategy of your area.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$208,200.00 - $327,140.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
