WWL Louisiana is looking for an Executive Producer of Streaming to lead and grow our strategic vision for our 24/7 streaming channel. Strong candidates will be transformative managers who can also implement daily streaming editorial tasks. The Streaming EP will work with teams managing, optimizing, and timing live and on-demand video content for WWL's OTT platform. The role requires close coordination with the News Director, Digital Director, and Assignment Manager to execute live and taped coverage.
The EP must have superb news judgement, great writing skills, and a record of thriving in a fast-paced newsroom while remaining calm during breaking news. The candidate should be editorially intuitive and curious.
Responsibilities:
Daily operational and editorial oversight of WWL+.
Create and produce original programming for a 24/7 streaming channel, including breaking news, continuous weather coverage, live events, and specials
Oversee all aspects of live streaming news production: script writing, rundown formatting, coordinating live and taped elements, control room communication, and programming grids
Develop and implement comprehensive streaming and digital coverage plans during major/breaking news
Apply a deep understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking to optimize news story production and programming across platforms and dayparts
Work closely with station managers and leadership on long-term planning
Demonstrate thoughtful editorial and content decisions in fast-paced environment
Foster a culture of strong news and editorial judgment
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, digital publishing or related field
Minimum of five years of experience producing or writing digital content in a newsroom or similar setting
Working knowledge of requirements for producing news content for streaming platforms
Proven verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
Demonstrated passion for producing content and collaborative in the process
Experience producing local newscasts is a plus
