What is the opportunity?

Leveraging your extensive living benefits knowledge, in this role you will be responsible for the strategic development of RBC Insurance's Disability and Critical Illness product portfolio. Serving as subject matter expert on living benefits product design and, as well as staying abreast of industry & regulatory developments and trends, this role will drive the development and implementation of identified strategies and initiatives designed to sustain RBCI's competitive advantage and achieve financial objectives. This role is a key leadership position with a focus on driving growth for the living benefits portfolio, demonstrating market leadership and relationship management with external and internal business partners.
What will you do?
Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts for living benefits products for all areas of RBC Insurance, partnering with key functional areas (digital, data, sales, pricing, valuations, corporate underwriting), focusing on driving profitable growth while managing risk.
In a collaborative fashion, lead analytics, research, design, and implementation of competitive products to ensure competitiveness, increased market share and profitable growth.
Contribute to achieving revenue associated with sales goals and increasing market penetration through strong relationships with all cross functional areas.
Lead the living benefits insurance product team, ensuring employee engagement with a focus on talent management.
What will you need to succeed?
Minimum 5 to 7 years in living benefits insurance product management, with a specific and proven expertise in Disability and Critical Illness product management.
Strong leadership skills including, relationship building/management abilities, impact and influence, problem solving, drive, decision making and people leadership skills. Ability to balance organizational risk appetite with growth.
Strategic business acumen and organizational awareness with experience leading in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders. Conceptual thinking with the ability to translate strategies and ideas into practical applications/program development.
Team player and collaborator: Ability to impact and influence across a variety of cross functional internal partners at all levels with strong change management experience.
