The Opportunity

As an Investment Product Onboarding Associate you will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders-including fund sponsors, Alternative fintech platforms, the internal new business team/operations, and financial advisors on a comprehensive range of offerings. In this dynamic and fast-paced role you will help enhance the Alternatives product shelf with innovative relevant investment solutions that are scalable with product market fit for our advisors.

The Team

The Alternatives Product team's mission is to empower advisor practices, agencies, and MassMutual to excel in the HNW space by offering open architecture solutions and expertise. We are dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial goals to grow and transition their wealth through informed investing.

The Impact:

In this role you will play a pivotal role in Fund evaluation, and onboarding across a range of third-party Alternative Investments including Private Equity, Private Credit, Exchange Funds, 1031/721 Exchange and Hedge Funds.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate manager onboarding process, revenue share negotiations, and oversight of vendor relationships.
  • Assess operational infrastructure and identify key risks, documenting findings in a written report and memorize workflows pertaining to Alternative product implementation.
  • Work with operations / advisors to find solutions to correct any operational deficiencies identified throughout the life of product on approved list.
  • Producing periodic sales reports and analyses for internal projects.
  • Present findings and results to internal product approval committees, as necessary.
  • Understand and effectively communicate complex alternative investment capabilities pertaining to both private and registered investment vehicles, to internal stakeholders, including compliance, internal sales and investment specialists.
  • Enhance and create educational resources, ensuring advisors are equipped with up-to-date knowledge on suite of offerings and alternatives platforms.
  • Develop relationships with industry peers to foster best practice within Wealth Management channel in the US.
  • Evaluate new fund and work alongside due diligence team to vet new strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth and efficient fund onboarding.
  • Leverage technology to drive process efficiencies and improve team workflows.
  • Assist in maintaining policies and procedures and internal communications.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Alternatives landscape, including competitor updates, product trends, advisor preferences for both private and registered investment structures.


The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years' experience in the financial services industry
  • 3+ years of experience with Alternatives in the financial services industry and/or within financial institutions (banks, credit unions, wires, broker dealers)
  • 1+ years' experience onboarding/documenting workflows and processes
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Due to the nature of this position, as part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA


The Ideal Qualifications
  • Series 7 at time of application or willingness to obtain
  • In-depth knowledge of investment vehicles such as interval funds, BDCs, Non-traded REITS, private funds, etc
  • Experience performing due diligence on secondaries sales strongly desire
  • Experience with more complex investments and solutions designed for HNW clients
  • Proven project management skills within large organization with multiple stakeholders and strong governance structure
  • Strategic mindset with the capability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
  • Outstanding product and project management skills

Salary Range:
$137,800.00-$180,800.00
