Job Summary:
The Task Order Project Manager / Senior Systems Administrator is a hybrid leadership and technical role supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) IT UNIX Technical Support Services. This position is responsible for overseeing the execution of complex IT task orders while ensuring the stability, security, and performance of UNIX/Linux enterprise systems across multiple DLA environments, including NIPRNet and SIPRNet. The candidate will serve as both a technical authority and a strategic project lead, coordinating with government stakeholders, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, and delivering reliable IT infrastructure services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Management
Lead and manage all aspects of assigned task orders under DLA contracts, including scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Program Manager, Government Contracting Officer (KO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, risk registers, and transition strategies.
Oversee contractor onboarding/offboarding, training compliance, invoicing support, and monthly reporting (e.g., progress reports, certification logs).
Support transition-out efforts, including knowledge transfer, documentation handoff, and coordination with follow-on contractors. - Systems Administration
Plan, configure, install, maintain, and optimize UNIX/Linux systems and networks across CONUS/OCONUS DLA environments.
Perform system patching, upgrades, configuration changes, performance monitoring, and incident resolution.
Lead implementation of cybersecurity controls in compliance with DISA STIGs, ACAS findings, and DOD 8570/8140 requirements.
Direct day-to-day administration of server environments, user account management, system backups, and disaster recovery operations.
Use automation tools and scripting to enhance administrative efficiency and reduce system downtime.
Provide technical mentoring to junior system administrators and ensure operational continuity. - Customer and Stakeholder Support
Maintain regular communication with DLA IT leadership, ensuring situational awareness of operational events, incidents, and milestones.
Coordinate across functional teams to resolve escalated issues and deliver consistent service in line with SLAs.
Support customer satisfaction efforts, VIP liaison standards, and service documentation such as MOUs and OLAs. - Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; or four (4) additional years of relevant experience.
- Clearance Requirements: Must possess a Secret clearance or be an eligible US citizen to obtain.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Certification: PMP or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
- RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ (must be from a nationally recognized authority).
- Minimum of 10 years of specialized IT experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on systems administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management and leadership experience in IT or consulting.
- Advanced knowledge of system administration best practices for Red Hat Linux, HP-UX, and Solaris.
- Experience with networked applications, fault tolerance, load balancing, and automated administration tools.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools (e.g., Splunk, HBSS, ArcSight) and vulnerability management.
- Additional Requirements:
o Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and coordinate across multi-functional teams.
o Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
