Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Test Engineer to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Senior Test Engineer is the primary contributor to the design, development and implementation of test solutions to perform functional & system testing for Starline's Electronic Product Lines. Develop critical-to-quality test plans based on product design specifications. Support and investigate customer issues and actively participate in system integration tests and regression test activities. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. Leads and manages complex projects and fully understands the area of specialization. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in their own area of expertise.

What Will You Do?
- Work with the design team to develop strategies and perform system level product integration tests; including firmware, software, electrical and mechanical tests.
- Develop and maintain automated firmware and software regression test applications with the use of LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Define and implement rigorous verification and validation test plans to ensure final product compliance with UL, FCC, and CE regulations
- Collaborate with test labs to conduct EMI, EMC, and safety testing to achieve global compliance.
- Analyze and troubleshoot electrical components, with the use of schematic capture tools, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout programs, and various digital and analog test equipment.
- Support lead electrical engineers with DFMEAs and design reviews.
- Assist the production Test Engineering department with the development and validation of PCBA test fixtures.
- Support manufacturing by resolving manufacturability problems as they develop and/or to transfer PCB design to outside manufacturer and assist quality control with questions concerning the acceptability of material.
- Create technical documentation such as drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, installation instructions, work instructions, and product catalogs supporting new product releases.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing staff to ensure product manufacturability.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Software Engineering
- 6+ years of experience testing electrical hardware and/or developing automated test systems
- Familiarity with low-voltage power distribution equipment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proficiency with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand
- Experience testing firmware or software-related products
- Experience using DMMs, power supplies, soldering equipment, oscilloscopes, and other laboratory equipment
- Advanced understanding of QA processes and methodologies (test plans, test designs, test cases, bug tracking systems, software life cycle)
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or Postman is preferred
- Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, Ethernet, Wi-Fi
- Proficiency with electrical theory in DC and three-phase AC power distribution
- Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt with change; strong desire for continuous learning; embraces a growth mindset
- Curious, task-oriented, and a self-starter with a proven track record of "getting things done."
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Personal Qualities/Behaviors:
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to lift up and carry to 25 pounds
- Participate in Team-based initiatives within Starline.
