This position will serve as a Systems Engineer Associate Manager on Hornet. Hornet is a ground system program in the early development phase. The Associate Manager will be responsible for people leadership of a subset of the team as well as perform technical tasking as a contributing systems engineer on the team.
Responsibilities may include:
Define ground system structures, behavior, interfaces, and data flows
Contribute to design and model development by creating or refining SysML elements and diagrams
Decompose and author requirements
Decompose Jira epics into features and assist developers in understanding them
Prioritize features based on program objectives and logical sequencing for system development
Contribute to development of CDRL documents
Conduct or participate in design trade studies
Develop plans for DevSecOps pipelines and test approaches
Participate in interface working groups to define and mature external interfaces
Investigate options and drive decisions related to system and software architecture (e.g., system behavior, interface and schema definitions, input on microservice design, integration of COTS/FOSS products, etc.)
Present at external meetings and demos
Maintain accountability for Engineering and Technology initiatives or requirements such as organizational training
Perform talent development tasks such as performance check ins, mentoring, and annual reviews
Develop site and team culture to improve employee performance and satisfaction
**This position is contingent upon contract award expected in April 2025**
The position requires a TS clearance to interview and a TS/SCI to start. Candidate must agree to sit for a CI Poly, but may start before the poly is conducted.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
