Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
8+ years of relevant experience in designing data solutions using snowflake database.
Expertise in SQL/PLSQL and profiling tools like Alteryx.
Experience in working with data warehouse, Dimensional modeling, Star Schema, Vault etc.
Define data requirements to support business, build process specifications, and ensure that work is in alignment with the overarching business and technical strategies.
Work closely with product owners and other stakeholders to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met.
Identify system/process/data impacts (upstream and downstream) and propose appropriate alternatives or remediation options, highlighting trade-offs when necessary.
Can explain basic technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of scalable Snowflake data warehouse solutions. This includes creating data models, defining virtual warehouse sizing, and optimizing schema design.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data analytics and business intelligence. This may involve writing and troubleshooting advanced queries, using Snowflake built-in functions, and creating User-Defined Functions (UDFs).
Build, monitor, and optimize ETL/ELT processes with data models. This includes understanding and implementing various ETL tools and techniques.
Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards. This includes implementing security measures within Snowflake, managing roles and privileges & ensuring data protection.
Implement best practices for performance tuning and optimization. This may involve optimizing queries, managing workloads, and using Snowflake's performance features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and provide data solutions. Mentor junior developers and guide the adoption of best practices in Snowflake development.
Stay updated with the latest Snowflake developments and best practices. This includes attending conferences, reading blogs, and staying current with new features and functionalities.
Migrate solutions from on-premises setups to cloud-based platforms. This may involve understanding different data migration strategies and using tools.
Perform data modeling to ensure efficient and effective data processing, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
Integrate Snowflake with various data sources and third-party tools.
Manage documentation of data models, architecture, and maintenance processes, and utilize version control tools.
Solve performance and scalability issues in the system.
Create, test, and implement enterprise-level apps with Snowflake.
