Job Objective: The Lead Engineer is responsible for designing current and new RS control solutions equipment from concept to production, supporting the upkeep of legacy products, maintaining technical documentation, selecting components and obtaining/managing third party product certifications where needed. Background in mechanical engineering, design, and some electrical is strongly recommended

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.
- Design robust, high-quality equipment and components by integrating the physical design requirements (structural, shielding, criticality and operations) and manufacturing aspects of all equipment/component development to produce designs that meet all applicable requirements for the form, fit and function.
- Provide conceptual design expertise (CAD designs) and electrical components design to ensure the continuation of equipment within the business
- Revise and modify existing designs to ensure their continued peak performance
- Maintain all data such as, but not limited to the following: CAD designs, drawings, manuals, assembly procedures, etc.
- Improve the product quality, functionality and performance
- Develop testing plans those challenges and proves the design
- Perform engineering calculations including stress, thermal and tolerance analysis
- Present new product designs to internal/external customers
- Assists in preparing and updating instructional and training materials for customer use and occasionally interact with customers.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- BS Mechanical Engineering or related degree as the individual needs to have technical knowledge to understand and support RS Product line. Also, he/she will provide guidance and propose design optimization/changes to others (required)
- Advance degree (desired)
Technical Skills:
- Proven capability of product development, as this position will not only require maintaining the existing product line, but to develop new products and customizing existing products for Engineering to Order projects. (required)
- Must have 3D CAD knowledge (Inventor preferred), as this position will be required to assist with 3D Modeling to support projects (required)
- Must understand GD&T to perform tolerances stack-up and understanding of mechanical drafting standards; he/she will be required to create manufacturing drawings and review/check drawings for others. (required)
- Knowledge of electrical drafting, electrical instrumentation, as this position must read and understand electrical diagrams, and evaluate/select electrical instrumentation to be used/package as part of the equipment (required)
- Familiar with equipment requirements for hazardous areas in the Oil and Gas Industry (desired)
- Knowledge of lubrication and filtration products as Reliability Services business/product line is based on lubrication technology (desired)
Experience Requirements:
- 7-10 years of mechanical design, electrical design and component selection/packaging experience, this position will be supporting the existing product line and Engineering To Order projects (required)
- Technical writing experience. This position will be reviewing, updating, and writing Engineering Manual, Product Instruction Manuals, test requirements, and other documentations (required)
- Working experience of Oil and Gas Hazardous Areas requirements and experience obtaining and maintaining certifications with Certified Bodies Agencies (UL, CSA, ATEX, CE)
Language Capabilities:
- Fluent in English to support the US Market (required)
- Knowledge of Spanish as some interaction with the Engineering Team/Customers in Mexico may be required (helpful)
