Job Description

A leading manufacturer of cutting-edge oxygen therapy equipment is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager to lead its U.S. startup operations.

This role is a unique opportunity to shape and grow the company's presence in the American market by driving sales performance, establishing strategic partnerships, and managing day-to-day business development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in sales management, distributor network expansion, and marketing strategy, along with the ability to manage a showroom and lead a future US sales team.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Over 5 years of successful B2B sales experience in the medical or wellness equipment sectors
  • Or B2C sales experience in the sports and wellness industries, particularly with high-net-worth clientele

This role requires a self-starter with a deep understanding of the U.S. market, a passion for wellness and health technology, and the drive to scale a brand in a competitive landscape.

Business-level Japanese language skills are highly desired, as regular communication with the Japan headquarters will be an important part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the overall sales activities for our products in the U.S. market
  • Supervise and guide the sales team, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and expand the distributor network to increase market reach and revenue
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies and campaigns in collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the New York showroom, ensuring it aligns with brand image and sales goals
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
  • Report regularly to Japan HQ on sales performance, market insights, and strategic developments
Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of experience in sales and business development, preferably in the wellness, medical, or sports industries
  • Proven success in selling luxury consumer goods to high-net-worth clientele
  • Business-level Japanese language skills highly preferred, for communication with Japan HQ
  • Demonstrated experience in account management and product-based sales
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proficiency in distributor development and partner relationship management
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies, both digital and traditional
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and travel as needed
Preferred Attributes:
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business growth
  • Experience in managing retail or showroom spaces
  • Strong understanding of cross-cultural business practices, especially within a Japanese bilingual/bicultural environment
