As a Lead Systems Engineer on the EGPW (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning) team at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex avionics systems and solutions. Your expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of EGPW technology and driving innovation in the aerospace industry.
You will report directly to the EGPW Sr. Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Deer Valley, AZ location on a hybrid 3:2 work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development and advancement of avionics technology, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of aircraft systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced avionics systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements, and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics systems engineering
Strong knowledge of avionics systems and industry standards
Proficiency in system-level analysis and optimization
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Experience with avionics system integration and testing
Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and certification processes
Strong leadership and communication skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced EGPW Software, Systems, and Modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements
- Provide technical and programmatic leadership and guidance to junior engineers
- Conduct system-level analysis and optimization
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Utilize DOORS requirements system to author high-level system requirements.
- Host and drive Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.
- Present program status to project engineers, managers, leadership, and customers.
