Job Summary
AEP's customers are actively considering, pursuing, and/or adopting distributed energy resources technologies and are considering enrollment in utility programs that support affordability, reliability, and clean energy. This role is responsible for providing the necessary support of end-to-end management of assets and programs led or supported by AEP's Commercial Operations team. Other responsibilities include supporting the development of new flexible load programs, recommending enhancements to existing programs, and contributing to the execution of all aspects of the DER Orchestration business.

Based on education, experience and interview evaluation, this opportunity will be filled commensurately at any title. For this posting, minimum requirements are stated at the lower grade. Increased expectations are at the higher grade.
Analyst (grade 7) = Education: Associate's degree in technology, business, engineering, or other technical fields. Experience: Minimum of 3 years utility or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Analyst Sr (grade 8) = Education: Bachelor's degree in technology, business, engineering, or another technical field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years utility or related experience.

- Prior experience with product development and demonstrated success of moving from idea to value using lean startup and design thinking
- Prior experience in RTO/Commercial Operations, customer programs
- Prior experience in identifying and tracking customer and technology trends

- Certified Energy Manager
- Experience with SPP and/or PJM markets
- Prior experience in RTO/Commercial Operations, customer programs,
- Prior experience with product development and demonstrated success of moving from idea to value using lean startup and design thinking
- Prior experience in identifying and tracking customer and technology trends
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the onboarding, management, and advancement of DER Orchestration products and associated assets.
- Support vendor management and reporting by documenting and communicating status and performing administrative duties
- Conduct research to support enhancements of existing programs and development of new programs
- Perform data synthesis, create data visuals, create key performance indicators (KPIs), and track progress
- Support the delivery of training and education to Commercial Operations Market Operations teams to ensure optimal utilization of DER Orchestration assets
- Ensure data inputs of DER Orchestration products are accurately updated
- Promote a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety, good utility practice, customer satisfaction, and innovation
- Develop effective communications for internal and external audiences on the value, opportunities, roadblocks, and status of DER Orchestration products
- Skills should include critical thinking, creativeness, and attention to detail
