Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineering Manager 2 - Vehicle Systems IPT Lead / Section Manager to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting F-35 Program.
This role has both 80% program statement of work (Vehicle System IPT Lead) and 20% functional responsibilities leading a team of 10-15 engineers of various grade levels (Section Manager).

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

PROGRAM duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the team in technical management of products through production design, development, production, and sustainment. The range of products include the following: Fire Protection Systems, EW/CNI Racks, Quick Latch Systems, Firewall Shutoff Valves, Actuators and Controllers, Arresting Hook Systems and Weapons Bay Door Drive Systems.
- Managing suppliers and developing and releasing the Performance Based Specifications
- Cost Account Management (CAM) presenting to senior-level management on cost, schedule and technical risks and issues.
- Supporting suppliers and customers with troubleshooting anomalies in system integration labs, on the production lines, or during flight testing, including Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs).
FUNCTIONAL HOMEROOM duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (10-15 personnel) including building an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
- Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs.
- Managing team member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts.
- Special assignments/data calls in support of the functional homeroom
- Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, property management, training, and configuration control.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience leading an engineering team or project
- Supplier Technical Management or Cost Account Management Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on the F-35 program or other military programs.
- Experience troubleshooting anomalies in system integration labs, on the production lines, or during flight testing, including Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs).
- Experience executing the engineering project life cycle, including: requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, verification, and sustainment
- Experience with CAD tools, such as CATIA V5.
- Prior Functional Management Experience
- Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
