This Opportunity

FPA is seeking a Structural Senior Staff Engineer between 2 to 4 years of experience to join our team in Wall, NJ. Candidate will perform design in structural computations, analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber for all types of structures. Staff engineer will assist with drawing and engineering report preparation within a growing team environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Structural analysis and modeling of Foundations, Superstructures, Lateral Loads Resisting Systems, MEP/Solar Energy/Telecommunication/Architectural Feature supports.
  • Assist Sr. Structural Engineer to prepare construction documents within a Revit/CAD environment.
  • Under supervision to edit engineering report including existing building audit, due-diligence property condition assessment, and solar PV support evaluation.
  • Assist Sr. Structural Engineer to field review foundation, crawl spaces, basement, main frames, roofs and faade. Must be comfortable performing in an environment that requires entering sub-space or climbing tall structures.
  • Possession of clear oral and written communication to others.
  • Must be highly responsive to supervisors, and team members via cell phone, emails, and telephonic meeting/chat software.
  • Regional and occasional out-of-state travel required.
  • Ability to work additional and/or non-standard office hours, as required.

Job Requirements
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent is required.
  • Structural analysis and modeling of various size buildings, infrastructures, and materials.
  • Familiar with building codes and industrial standards, including IBCs, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and NDS, etc.
  • Proficient to multiple Structural Software including RAM, STAAD Pro, EnerCalc, ETABs, PCA and tnxTower.
  • Assist with preparation of construction documents and editing various types of engineering reports.
  • Under supervision to perform field work to document existing structural dimensions and properties for analysis use.
  • Perform construction administration services including shop drawings reviews.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines on structural components of non-structural projects.
