The laboratory director determines that the technical supervisor is qualified to perform the role as outlined below. The technical supervisor's training and experience shall be in molecular science and/or clinical diagnostics. The technical supervisor must be available on-site and accessible via email, slack, and/or telephone to the laboratory staff as required for technical and scientific consultation during laboratory hours of operation.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the technical supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Define and lead new product strategies for how clinical diagnostic test results are communicated, interpreted, and acted on across user types, delivery mechanisms, and timeframes.
- Build a laboratory for scale and adaptability: Balance immediate experience delivery with scalable infrastructure for future personalization, automation, and AI-powered insights.
- Lead a high-performing team of testing personnel, driving bold thinking, iterative learning, and a test-and-learn mindset. Design for actionability ensuring each test result enables clear next steps for providers, patients, and caregivers, including clinical and non-clinical pathways, educational content, and longitudinal support.
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Clinical Product, Medical Affairs, Lab Ops, Customer Service, Commercial, and the Laboratory Director to co-create solutions that are scientifically rigorous, operationally feasible, and emotionally resonant.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform prioritization and measure impact-combining patient/provider insights, operational metrics, and market signals.
- Ensure all result experiences comply with relevant regulatory, privacy, and clinical accuracy standards, while continuing to push the boundaries of innovation and empathy.
Education, Experience, and Skills
8+ years of experience in clinical diagnostics, laboratory development, and service design, with at least 3+ years leading and developing sub-teams.
- Demonstrated success working in healthcare, diagnostics, healthtech, or similarly regulated and complex domains-especially where multi-audience communication is core to the product.
- A portfolio that reflects the design, development and implementation of a high-complexity laboratory and infrastructure.
- Fluency in collaborating across highly cross-functional teams-especially with clinical, scientific, and design counterparts.
Clinical & Technical Expertise
High-quality testing: Our laboratory will be CLIA certified and CAP accredited. A qualified applicant will be responsible for:
- Processing clinical samples according to SOPs.
- Participating in the selection of new test methodology and equipment.
- Validating laboratory testing performance.
- Establishing and implementing on-boarding and training of new hires.
- Overseeing technical staff training and competency testing.
- Participating in and submission of proficiency testing.
- Maintenance of quality control and quality assurance programs spanning equipment, reagents, and consumables.
- Maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly PM on all equipment including but not limited to the VeritiPro thermal cyclers, 3730xl & 3130xl DNA analyzers, QuantStudio7 Pros, Beckman Arkrays, Sysmex analyzers, and MiSeq FGx sequencers.
- Resolution of technical problems and ensuring remedial actions are taken.
- Ensuring customer results are not reported unless testing systems are functioning properly.
- Identification of training needs across all laboratory applications (i.e. pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical phases).
- Maintenance and upkeep of all inventory supplies, specifically reagents & consumables.
- Perform data analysis and review of clinical samples and reports.
- Serve as a second-tier review in the reporting processes.
- Provide administrative support to the laboratory director with delegated tasks.
Required Skills/ Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in biology, biomedical science, or clinical laboratory testing with at least three years of laboratory training and experience in high complexity disciplines including molecular genetics, hematology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
