A Typical Day

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced FVP Information Security Operations Center (SOC) to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of our SOC. The Security Operations Center (SOC) Lead will be responsible for the effective management and leadership of the CSIRT, ensuring the timely detection, analysis, and response to security incidents, and driving continuous improvement in our security operations. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Leadwill:

• Incident Response Leadership: Direct the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in active incident response and forensics investigations. This includes prioritizing incidents, ensuring adherence to established playbooks, monitoring subtask execution, and tracking response metrics to maintain service levels.
• Security Operations Oversight: Oversee the execution of core SOC functions, including security monitoring, network investigations, malware analysis, and the resolution of diverse cybersecurity issues.
• Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for critical and high-severity incidents, requiring in-depth log analysis, network traffic and endpoint forensics, and the ability to synthesize data from various sources to provide a clear understanding of the situation. This also necessitates effective coordination with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
• Threat Intelligence Management: Curate and manage threat intelligence feeds, analyze Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), and translate raw intelligence into actionable insights that enhance our enterprise security posture.
• Visibility Enhancement: Drive initiatives to improve visibility across all technology platforms, ensuring the SOC has access to the necessary data sources to strengthen our defense and detection capabilities.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor SOC engineers, fostering their technical and leadership growth, and maintaining a strong leadership presence across the business. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations and managing both internal staff and third-party resources.
• Strategic Collaboration: Provide timely and relevant information to Technology departments and Enterprise Risk Management to support informed decision-making and risk mitigation.
• Technology Management: Manage and provide expert recommendations for the development, modification, and operation of security technologies related to cloud, data, and applications.
• Process Optimization: Develop, refine, and implement target operating models and workflows to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the SOC.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Industry experience leading an enterprise SOC environment.
• Proven experience leading incident response efforts.
• Strong knowledge of security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, SANS GIAC).

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

• Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
• Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
• Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
