Westminster Place is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Director of Social Services for the Social Services Department. Join the team at Westminster Place, a Presbyterian Living community, an independent, non-profit senior living care organization offering full continuum of care from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing and memory care at four luxury retirement communities.

Starting at $70,700.00 to $106,000.00 Annual Salary (Depending on years of experience)

Full Time (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) Monday through Friday.

This role focuses on identifying and meeting the psychological needs of residents at Westminster Place through direct practice and supervision of the social services department personnel. Ensuring quality of resident services, meeting or exceeding community quality and service standards. Responsibilities include compliance, administrative tasks, social engagement, and community development. Leaders in this role are flexible, compassionate, and effective communicators, dedicated to creating a supportive and positive atmosphere.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports health center and highlands social service staff with completion of their duties as needed, covering off days
  • Assists health center social services staff with resident contract completion.
  • Provide counseling and support to residents and families in individual settings.
  • Promote effective communication between residents, families and staff members.
  • Assist residents in obtaining services that enhance ability to function at the highest level of independence.
  • Inform residents of their rights and responsibilities and serve as resident advocate to ensure their rights are honored at all times.
  • Provide appropriate psychosocial assessments and documentation in resident records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Develop and present educational and psychologically supportive programs for residents and staff.
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary committees focusing on resident or institutional concerns.
  • Functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team; collaborate and provide clinical consultation as needed.
  • Complete and maintain required audits for internal and external usage as required.
  • Participate in the development and review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
  • Promote the enhancement of clinical skills within the Social Services Department.
  • Supervise Social Service staff members.
  • Recruit and hire Social Services staff as needed.
  • Maintain and review payroll information bi-weekly.
  • Develop and adhere to annual budget.
  • Develop and maintain community resource information lists.
  • Promote the Presbyterian Living vision, mission and values.
  • Participate in professional seminars and workshops to maintain license(s).
  • Is aware of Presbyterian Living Corporate Compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents. Demonstrates behavior and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies.
  • Responsible to learn and use standard functions within software and know basic operation of computer to enhance efficiency in resident/patient service, assessment and/or clinical documentation. Responsible to use computers and software as required by work environment in order to enhance communications, performance and knowledge.

Education:
  • Master's degree in Social Work.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Social Worker in Illinois State.
  • Two years of relevant post graduate work experience. Geriatric experience desired in a long-term care setting.
  • Ability to supervise and manage department staff.
  • Well-developed counseling skills.
  • Awareness of resident needs as a whole person (social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual).
  • Willingness and desire to work with older adults with a clear understanding of the aging process.
  • Proactive personality with an emphasis on teamwork and flexibility. Must be able to work in an unstructured environment, handle several tasks simultaneously, problem solve and respond quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to present information to group settings.
  • Computer literacy and public speaking skills.
  • Capable of independent judgement, initiative and ingenuity.
  • The highest degree of commitment to the provision of quality services to the residents of Westminster Place.
  • Experience in Point Click Care EMR system is preferred.
