Senior Network Engineer (job code #85851)

Duties: Create, maintain and support network and telecommunication infrastructures including 24x7 data center environments, warehouse facilities and hundreds of retail sales locations. Research technologies in network administration, VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), wireless networking and information security systems. Assist and create standard operating procedures that document built and run-time documentation and information technology related to company policies. Establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, accessing information, security requirements and applying best practices design principals to support computer networks as needed. Maintain network performance by evaluating and resolving network issues including availability, utilization and latency. Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network, telecom and security equipment. Secure networks by developing network access controls, performing on-going monitoring, and maintaining documentation that are within the best interest of the company in the future. Create test plans, research new networking technologies and consider information security when designing networks. Manage and perform network hardware and software upgrades by conferring with vendors in order to develop implementation plans, testing functionality and deploy completed network solutions.

Education

Required: Master or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunication Systems or related fields.

Experience

Required: 6 months experience in job offered or related occupations (eg. Network Engineer).

Special

Requirements: Must have at least 6 months of prior work experience in each of the following:

Create VPN tunnels

Whitelisting third-party application public IP address

Troubleshooting network devices

Change the authentication rules on firewalls

Update routing protocols compatible with all network devices from different vendors

Cisco ACS migration to Cisco ISE
