Job Description
The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), a joint department of the School of Medicine and the School of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), invites applications from highly qualified individuals for NTE, tenure-earning, and tenured positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, and full Professor, based on experience and qualifications.
Candidates who join this exciting environment must be committed to developing a robust extramurally funded research program, teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and involvement in service activities to the University and the profession. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to collaborate with colleagues and participate in ongoing departmental programs.
Required Qualifications
Positions require an earned doctoral degree or equivalent in biomedical engineering or related field. To be competitive for a tenured position, candidates must be nationally recognized for their scholarship, research, and/or commitment to education. Tenure-eligible candidates must have an outstanding vision for independent research and commitment to education. Salary is commensurate with the individual's experience.
