Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role

As a Senior Quality Engineer - Automation, you will design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to validate the functionality and performance of our software applications. You will work closely with development teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle and improve test coverage across the system.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop automated test scripts using Robot Framework (Autobot), Python, and Bash to validate software functionality.
  • Implement and maintain test automation frameworks for UI, API, and system testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
  • Review requirement documents and translate them into automated test scenarios.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to verify data integrity in test scenarios.
  • Use Jira X-Ray and Confluence for test case management, defect tracking, and documentation.
  • Work closely with development, DevOps, and QA teams to identify testing opportunities and improve test efficiency.
  • Contribute to test strategy discussions and perform code reviews to ensure automation quality.


Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for complex systems.
  • Strong expertise in Robot Framework, Python, and Bash scripting for automation development.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data integrity validation.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Artifactory.
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks, including Selenium, Appium, and PyTest.
  • Familiarity with UI, API, and system testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with development, QA, and DevOps teams to enhance test coverage and efficiency using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and test strategies effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams of automation engineers.
  • Participation in test strategy discussions and contribution to automation quality through code reviews.
  • Familiarity with automotive software testing and validation, including Android apps, QNX, and/or Linux services.
  • Knowledge of hardware integration and system testing, including tools such as Vehicle Spy and protocols like CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-based solutions.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and event-based systems.
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in software testing and validation.
  • Exposure to data analytics tools and frameworks for testing insights.
