The Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco. The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/GYN, HIV and homeless services. We advocate for health equity and deliver innovative, high-quality services responsive to the neighborhoods and diverse communities we serve with a focus on the Latino Spanish-Speaking Communities.

We are currently looking for qualified candidates to join our Resource Center Clinic as a Registered Nurse. Please note: this role requires an applicant to be bilingual (English/Spanish). This position reports to the Senior Nurse Manager and is a Regular, Full Time, Exempt role with a starting annual salary range of $90,400 to $99,500 with full benefits

Primary Objective:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care and will assist in establishing a clinical team approach to comprehensive medical care and provide for continuity of care to MNHC patients.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Assesses patients' health needs and prepares them as indicated
  • Provides medical treatment as ordered and performs procedures according to MNHC nursing protocol
  • Prepares and administers medication as ordered. Completes regular refills in accordance with the established refill protocol
  • Responsible for triage/emergency and medical screening of patients
  • Provides patient education and counseling
  • Collaborate with physicians and other team members to implement and evaluate patient care plans and initiate co-visits
  • Attends and participates in nursing staff and quality improvement meetings as needed
  • Coordinates patient flow in clinical area
  • Perform audits of crash cart supplies and floor stock medications and place orders as needed
  • Provides clinical oversight of medical assistants to ensure safety and best practices

Responsible for obtaining and recording accurate medical information and history. This includes the following:
  • Checking encounter forms, prescriptions, lab and Xray requests
  • Completing disability, CHPD, and other medically related forms
  • Maintaining tracking systems and follow-up reports/requests
  • Initiating health maintenance and prevention procedures

Qualifications:
  • Valid California Registered Nurse license.
  • Two years' experience in a non-profit, community health care setting, preferred. Experience with homeless, Latino, mentally ill, drug-users, LGTBQ and/or other marginalized communities preferred.
  • Fluent in English/Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer. Experience with Practice Management Systems and Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with patient records and personal information.
