Your Impact.

As a Finance Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the business, including commission and premium trust reconciliation, overseeing outsourced team relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and establishing efficient processes to drive operational excellence.

This role is critical in driving operational excellence, optimizing financial processes, and aligning the internal team with outsourced resources to maximize efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial principles in the insurance sector, and proven experience managing both in-house and outsourced financial teams.

Key Responsibilities.

Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including commission payments, premium handling, and trust account reconciliations


  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting


Commission Management:

  • Oversee the calculation, verification, and processing of commissions for agents and distribution partners


  • Analyze commission structures and implement enhancements to improve efficiency while ensuring accuracy


Premium Trust Account Reconciliation:

  • Manage and reconcile premium trust accounts in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines


  • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of premium collections and disbursements


Outsourced Team Oversight:

  • Work closely with external outsourcing partners to manage financial operations tasks, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time


  • Act as the primary point of contact for outsourcing teams, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and addressing challenges effectively


  • Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) with outsourced providers to ensure quality and efficiency


  • Collaborate with the outsourced teams to resolve discrepancies, ensure compliance, and streamline processes


  • Regularly evaluate the performance of outsourcing partners, providing feedback and implementing improvements as necessary.


  • Work with outsourced providers to ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and analysis


Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Foster strong collaboration between in-house staff and outsourced providers to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency


  • Drive a culture of accountability and excellence internally and within outsourcing relationships


Process and Technology Optimization:

  • Proactively identify inefficiencies in workflows, including those managed by outsourced partners, and implement technology-driven enhancements to reduce errors, streamline processes, and improve scalability


  • Leverage technology and software to automate and optimize routine processes and improve overall productivity


Your Experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field


  • 5+ years of experience in financial operations, preferably within the insurance industry


  • Proven experience managing outsourced financial service providers or third-party vendors


  • Strong knowledge of commission management and premium trust reconciliation


  • Exceptional vendor management with the ability to ensure performance, compliance, and accountability


  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with collaborating over shared platforms/tools with outsourcing partners is a plus


  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills


  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills for managing both internal and external teams


  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines

  • Austin, TX or Chicago, IL: This is a hybrid position. The noise level is low to moderate depending on staff levels in the office and, when working remotely, noise level will be dependent on the employee's chosen work location.

Base Salary Range:
$76,000-$95,000
