  • ENGINEERING BUSINESS PARTNER

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Engineering Business Partner leads an engineering team to deliver, support, and maintain effective and efficient production processes from launch through life of program. Accountable to customer engineering requirements and specifications. Define and comprehend the leading indicators of each process. This role will create continuity among the plant and central engineering teams focused on continuous improvement and read across.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support cross functional peer team.
    • Ensure engineering launch deliverables are defined and achieved.
    • Accountable for planned direct labor to contracted direct labor.
    • Prepare plant engineering team for success at SOP.
    • Responsible to create team goals that align with the company's goals and strategic initiatives.
    • Develop risk mitigation plans - engage with key Android personnel and customer to proactively identify critical risks.
    • Develop a high-performance culture with an emphasis on innovation, continuous improvement, operations excellence and team member safety.
    • Manage engineering budget, staffing, facility preparation and relevant assets as appropriate.
    • Support cross functional commodity teams to empower our engineers across the globe to continued improvement and common methods.
    • Provide leadership to manufacturing engineering functions including process and layout design, maintenance, system, and controls, ergonomics, and safety.
    • Support a culture of daily Kaizen activities.
    • Ensure the Engineering Change process is followed.
    • Develop the leading indicators for each process to be monitored proactively.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering.
    • 10+ years of Automotive Manufacturing experience or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in engineering technical leadership.


    TRAVEL:

    • Travel Required: Yes 50% or less .

    • Lead with the the characteristics of being trustworthy, tenacious and humble.
    • High degree of organization skills in a highly complex environment.
    • Technically competent in a wide variety of engineering areas.
    • Team work and leading teams to a common goal that is achieved.
    • Able to ask for help from valuable other facilities and senior leadership resources.
    • Practical experience leading engineering systems and tasks (APQP, PFMEA, plant layout, tooling & equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, etc.).
    • Proven leadership skills and experience mentoring and developing staff.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
    • Tact, a sense of urgency, and an overall customer satisfaction focus.


    COMPENSATION:

    The compensation for this position ranges from $109,500 to $182,500/year. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic localization, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
