SALARY RANGE:
$140-170K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
The role of Database Administrator is to manage the deploying and operating of primarily Linux-based databases (primarily MySQL) located in both internally and IAAS cloud-based environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage MySQL databases servicing both internal and externally facing applications
- Develop repeatable deployment, back-up and replication processes
- Monitor database health with ability to independently troubleshoot configuration and performance issues
- Facilitate working sessions with development team to improve database performance
- Develop disaster high availability and disaster recovery procedures
- Manage users and permissions with goal of providing necessary access while operating under best-practices (e.g., granting least privilege)
- Coordinate patching, upgrade and maintenance schedules
- Initiate and coordinate data obfuscation when dealing with PII
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- 3-5 years of database administration, preferably in a MySQL environment
- Experience with both cloud (AWS) and on-prem database administration
- Strong knowledge of least-privilege practices for database access/user management
- Strong understanding of back-up and replication strategies
- Ability to implement database-specific performance monitoring
- Experience executing patching, upgrading and migration procedures
- Experience scripting automated processes
Required Skills
- Linux Shell, Power Shell
- Ability to serve as an escalation point for all database performance concerns
- Ability to implement database-specific performance monitoring
- Understanding that occasional after-hours and weekend support will be expected
