Director Life Operations

Description

Position Responsibilities:

• Providing direct supervision and professional development to the Life Operations management teams.
• Implementing and ensuring that policies and procedures for the Life companies are met.
• Collaborating with leadership in the Life division to ensure the Life companies work strategically and align with the company's goals and business plan.
• Establishing and implementing strategies that have a short- to mid-term (1-3 years) impact on business results in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Developing short- to mid-term (1-3 years) plans for optimizing the organization, function, and the resources required to execute strategies in related job areas.
• Assigning priority levels and redirecting resources toward the highest priorities.

Knowledge and Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
• FLMI, FALU, CLU, or comparable designation preferred.
• 5-7 years prior work experience that would have developed in-depth knowledge of creating, implementing, and managing Life activities and workflows.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership on corporate projects, ensuring proper focus and direction are given to each one based on priorities.
• Ability to analyze market research to evaluate trends, brand awareness, and competition.
• Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings, both internally and externally.
• Ability to command attention, manage group processes, and change tactics midstream when a situation requires it.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to develop others and build effective teams.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations.
