Primary Purpose
Note: This is a hybrid position- employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This individual has progressed through multiple Gas Supply and Transportation positions, demonstrating leadership and initiative. This individual has the lead role in day-to-day decision making regarding the purchase of gas supply and the management of assets that provide core customers with reliable natural gas supply at prices that are reflective of market conditions over time. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

The Principal Gas Acquisition Analyst must demonstrate the ability to negotiate transactions in a fast-paced environment, aggregating forward gas pricing positions across all time frames as well as locational exchanges and basis differentials. The Principal Analyst will be responsible to ensure that system reliability and the least cost procurement objective are achieved. Analysis of price correlations and market valuations are critical. Proven experience in a trading and/or asset optimization environment, and a solid understanding of commodity markets, physical trading techniques, and financial markets is required.

Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage and coordinate the purchasing and nomination of long-term and short-term natural gas supplies.
- Lead the gas procurement group in achieving the annual revenue sharing margin goal for top line revenue growth.
- Responsible for contributing input to short-term and long-term gas supply planning and managing the firm transportation contracts.
- Participate in strategic decisions related to natural gas storage contracts and asset management services.
- Support the filing of the annual Gas Cost Rate (GCR) and provide testimony.
- Co-ordinate the preparation and filing of the annual Strategic Natural Gas Supply Plan.
- Manage the Qualified Fuel Cell Provider (QFCP) program.
- Support business planning, budgeting, variance analysis, audit compliance, and reporting requirements. Assist Company's legal staff and consultants intervening in pipeline rate filings.
- Assist in managing the Gas Hedging Portfolio.
- Provide back up for Section Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field and 7-10 years' experience, OR in lieu of Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of 9-12 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work independently or manage a team working on special projects.
- PC skills: Knowledge of spreadsheets; Excel; Word; etc.
- Excellent demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to handle multiple projects.
- Knowledge of gas tariffs, pipelines and storage operations.

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $121,600.00/Yr. - $167,200.00/Yr.
