Northrop Grumman's Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and it will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

*This position is contingent upon capturing program award(s) and obtaining and maintaining associated business and/or customer funding prior to start date. Additionally, this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Northrop Grumman's SSSD is seeking a Space Vehicle (SV) to Payload (PL) Design & Integration Thread Lead. This Staff Systems Engineer will develop and maintain the SV to PL Interface Control Document (ICD) and lead working groups to address and integrate SV to PL requirements. More info about the role is below.

-The lead will be the primary point of contact for SV to PL integration, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve interface issues and ensure seamless integration.

-Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with specifications, coordinating engineering efforts, overseeing design and testing, and reporting progress to leadership.

-Candidates should have extensive experience in space vehicle and payload design integration, interface management, and systems engineering principles.

-Additionally, candidates must have proficiency in requirements management, verification, and validation processes, and familiarity with industry standards.
-Deliverables include comprehensive SV to Payload ICDs, status reports, technical review packages, and integration process documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 12+ years of experience in engineering OR

-Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 10+ years of experience in engineering OR

-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of experience in engineering

-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Secret security clearance or above at time of application and prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM discipline

-Strong communication skills, including the willingness and comfortability to present in front of large groups

-Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes

-Ability to proficiently use tools such as: MS Project, Power Point, Excel, Jira, DOORS

Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
