Responsibilities
About the Team The Rapid Response Team is the front lines of monitoring media interest in TikTok. The primary objective is to quickly and efficiently flag press inquiries to the Global Comms team, ensuring the team is never caught off guard by critical media inquiries or reputational issues. They also closely monitor media coverage to keep the entire company apprised of relevant news cycles. The Rapid Response Team sits within the Comms Insights team, part of the Global Brand & Communications Operations department. Comms Insights equips our stakeholders with data-driven insights to determine comms strategies. Our work parallels the news cycles surrounding TikTok and the industry: we move fast and cover a wide range of issues. Responsibilities - Realtime monitoring of global press inboxes to ensure media inquiries are relayed to the appropriate PR handler, and handled in a timely manner. Manage high volume of inbound emails to organize information, distribute to relevant departments, manage spam, etc. - Maintain spreadsheets that track inbound media inquiries and resulting press coverage - Actively track industry and competitive news throughout the day to ensure the Global Comms team and XFN partners are aware of the latest media cycles - Build weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports that analyze trends in press inquiries - Create alerts and processes for identifying anticipated news stories or media cycles - Work with technical teams to ensure e-mail management infrastructure runs smoothly - Maintain operational documents, assess and refine internal workflows, and share best practices to optimize media operations - Support insights and analytics projects by creating charts, identifying keywords, checking dashboards, etc. - Some early morning meetings and occasional weekend coverage may be required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Previous experience in Communications or Public Relations within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment - Excellent written, verbal and communication skills - Excellent project management and operations skills with very close attention to detail - Ability to regularly sort, prioritize, and identify urgent tasks, directing them to the appropriate responder while working independently and efficiently - Familiarity with using spreadsheets for data entry and chart-building - Flexibility and willingness to support various projects as needed across the wider team, often on short notice - Able to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism required Preferred Qualifications - Understanding of US news media; familiarity with global media a plus - Familiarity with media monitoring tools like Cision, Brandwatch, MuckRack, etc is a plus

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (Hourly)
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $34.71 - $54.81 .
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
