SUMMARY: Oversee all aspect of electrical controls systems that apply to Fast conveyor and GSE equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Evaluate electrical controls components to determine if they add value or create a better way in Fast electrical controls systems.
  • Complete engineering change notices and follow all engineering procedures.
  • Work with Fast team members in troubleshooting electrical issues that arise during production or in service on both FAST conveyor and GSE equipment.
  • Support aftermarket parts sales requests that require higher level technical assistance.
  • Apply knowledge of industry standards UL508A and NFPA79 in electrical designs and component application.
  • Participate and lead department and project meetings, product reviews, electrical design reviews.
  • Participates in seminars, and training sessions to stay current of new technologies component developments and industry standards.
  • Periodic travel which involves engineering trips, trade shows, and startup support on special projects.
  • Develop control programs for the various industrial and mobile products manufactured by Fast.
  • Work with electrical engineer team members to assist and grow their knowledge.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 10+ years related hands-on experience in developing electrical control systems for an industrial machine builder.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, tolerances, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must had experience in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (preferably LD) including but not limited to Rockwell programming software Studio 5000 and CCW, Also Schnieder Electric's So Machine suite. General MicroSoft programs: Outlook, Word, Excel. Knowledge of accessing and using the internet and Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software; Knowledge of computer systems.
