Summary/Objective:

The Application Development Manager is responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting both vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions that enhance the organization's core banking platform and other enterprise applications, in line with our strategic plan and technology roadmap.

This role leads the design, development, and delivery of business solutions aimed at optimizing operational efficiency through technology. The manager oversees a team of core developers and collaborates with business units and internal IT teams to deliver enterprise solutions that meet the organization's operational needs, utilizing software delivery best practices.

This person must be self-motivated, creative, agile, accountable, and able to balance efficiency with effectiveness.

Essential Functions Include:
  • Manage and supervise the core development team across scrum teams and business lines.
  • Collaborate with PMO and participate in stakeholder ceremonies.
  • Promote a team-oriented climate valuing diversity, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Lead software design and development practices and ensure governance and quality.
  • Continuously improve application management and solicit feedback.
  • Define design patterns, review code, and enforce security/compliance standards.
  • Interface with external vendors and align with their roadmaps.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience; B.S. in Computer Science preferred.
  • 6 years of experience with financial technology platforms.
  • Experience with SDLC, version control, and testing practices.
  • Strong leadership with mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Able to influence executive leadership and manage agile projects.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, IS, or Engineering.
  • Experience with specific financial technology tools.
  • Familiarity with IBM AIX, SQL, HTML, JavaScript.
  • ITIL framework knowledge and implementation experience.

Additional Hiring Manager Notes:
  • Candidate must reside in Colorado. Payroll is limited to in-state employees.
  • Role is hybrid - up to 50% remote. Onsite presence is required for leadership and team meetings with some week-to-week variation.
  • Relocation package is available for out-of-state candidates willing to move.
  • Position is for expansion, not backfill. No service disruption due to vacancy.
  • Contractors/consultants will not be considered - role requires cultural integration and long-term leadership commitment.

Pay: $120k - $150k annual with 8% Annual Bonus
