Description:
As the Category Manager, Facilities Management Americas, you will have a hybrid work schedule and you will report to the Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager. You will manage all Americas Facilities Management activities including Predictive Maintenance, Soft and Hard Facilities Management, and Tank Cleaning activities. This includes negotiating agreements that optimize the total value for PPG in compliance with established purchasing policies, overseeing projects and supplier relationships and help develop Global and Americas strategies, conduct RFPs, lead the selection of suppliers, define the implementation strategy and monitor compliance. You will implement Global and Americas programs and savings within your respective areas.
You will develop and implement sourcing strategies, with a global or/and regional perspective, to source the following areas:
Category strategies include stakeholder communication, spend analytics/mapping, external market analysis, strategic sourcing strategy development and execution (reverse auctions, RFX, focused negotiations, etc.), contract/service level agreements, and vendor management. You will be the delegated purchasing authority up to a certain dollar amount, referring all transactions in excess to the appropriate level of authority and complying with all Corporate Purchasing policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for the global or regional Facilities Management procurement strategy working directly with Functional stakeholders and Procurement team within Americas region and where applicable between the regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC) to drive and influence best practices.
- Prepare annual category plans to align the regions and countries.
- Develop global or regional strategic sourcing projects (where applicable) for critical categories using the strategic sourcing process.
- Identify and implement solutions to drive incremental cost reductions and cost avoidance opportunities through category knowledge by researching and understanding industry trends at the regional and global level.
- Work with relevant Functional teams and the Sourcing Specialists in each region and country to assess, optimize and implement bid projects that align with Facilities Management Teams and other key functions strategic roadmap.
- Develop communication reviews with leadership, reviewing critical suppliers, upcoming projects and an understanding of the forward business needs.
- Collaborate closely with Strategic Business Units, Functional Teams, and Procurement partners to understand requirements and resolve issues promptly.
- Use various purchasing electronic tools including spend management software to submit RFIs, RFPs, Reverse auctions to strategically source global suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance with a global viewpoint to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements. Configuring performance management of critical suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, relevant procurement qualifications or direct work experience in the field.
- 5+ years of prior purchasing, marketing, commercial or negotiations experience in manufacturing related services strategic sourcing and management.
- 2+ years of experience in regional or global project management with proven records of accomplishment.
- Proficiency with establishing contracts, monitoring performance and issue resolution.
- Experience with relevant tools to create reverse auctions and RFPs and manage vendor responses and bids to help maximize value.
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to travel 25%
