Job Summary: The Divisional Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is responsible for Leading Continuous Improvement activities for Wisconsin's sites. This role is responsible for driving change within the business units and holding top level Management bi-weekly and monthly steering meetings to drive accountability to results. C.I. Leadership and the Management team will decide what projects ad resources will be employed at any given time. This role focuses on optimizing any or all manufacturing processes by implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity. This role will also be responsible for driving "skunk works" projects that drive innovative, and or, out of the box thinking that either resolves existing problems or gives a competitive advantage in the marketplace for future opportunities or customer needs.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the C.I. team to meet goals and ensure projects adhere to timelines and are resulting in true P/L savings.
Establish and communicate clear strategy, direction, and goals, with alignment to site goals and activities.
Monitor and support plant operations to meet objectives in quality, safety, cost control, continuous improvement, and efficiency.
Support (drive/teach/mentor) lean initiatives which result in either greater execution and or direct P&L increases.
Lead regular meetings with staff and provide timely status updates.
Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to drive process improvements.
Lead regular interval meetings with Leadership on direction, approvals, status/results.
Act as liaison between internal team and all other staff and Leadership.
Direct personnel activities such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation and salary adjustments.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
Identification of, and evaluation of, new or platform shifting technologies.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of pertinent experience desired.
Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in the Injection Molding Industry, preferably medical desired.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong technical, analytical and proposal writing skills. Must have strong presentation skills.
Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating and solving problems.
Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, customers and all vendors.
Must be able to think outside the box related to process and problem solving
Strong or proven Leadership and Employee development background.
Additional Qualifications:
Must have very strong computer skills to include the knowledge of a variety of computer software applications to include MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, IQMS, Outlook, etc.
Working knowledge of ISO, six sigma techniques, and quality standards.
Knowledgeable and Capable of effectively applying lean manufacturing principles.
Capable of Multi-tasking, organized, excellent time management skills.
Experienced in Managing Budgets and analyzing costs.
ADA Requirements:
Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
