| What we are looking for

The Senior Product Analyst , Central Fraud Services , will be part of the Product Management group. This role helps Payments Canada shape the future of payments and ensuring safety and soundness of payments by managing fraud within Payments Canada's risk appetite. The incumbent will coordinate, analyze and execute on Fraud Services work packages, including fraud services for Real-Time Rail (RTR) payments. This role will collaborate closely with Transform, Delivery, Run pillars as well as other cross-functional, to provide detailed knowledge of market conditions needed to ensure that necessary features, functionality and supporting structures are in place.

| A day in the life

Your responsibilities as the Senior Product Analyst will include but are not limited to:

Support product lifecycle and fraud services delivery

  • Support pre-discovery and discovery phases of the product lifecycle, grounded in market research, member, regulatory, and stakeholder insights.
  • Identify fraud risk management gaps in current market offerings.
  • Provide input into the product vision, roadmap, requirements, and release plan.
  • Take a lead role in driving forward fraud-related initiatives, including development of business cases and planning submissions.


Conduct analysis and research to inform business needs

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify pain points, develop journey flows, and create actionable business requirements.
  • Review product designs for user experience and provide feedback to development and engineering teams.
  • Support research teams in gathering information on fraud risks and exposure.
  • Analyze and resolve issues, recommend improvements, and lead development of user tips, tools and guides.


Manage stakeholder relationships and business execution

  • Build solid relationships with internal teams including Industry Relations, Delivery, Operations, Communications, and Risk.
  • Engage independently with members, vendors, regulators, and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Liaise with EPMO and resource managers to determine resourcing needs and coordinate procurement processes.
  • Own medium to large risk/issues and support resolution of complex business issues.


Provide administrative coordination and contribute to team development

  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings, including scheduling, agenda planning, materials preparation, and minute-taking.
  • Prepare high-quality content for internal, member, regulator, and vendor engagement.
  • Manage structured and traceable document storage and file tagging on shared drives.
  • Draft processes and workflows to support product management discipline and provide mentorship to junior team members.


| What you need to be successful

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or related discipline.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of progressive work experience in fraud management, risk management, product management or business analysis in the financial sector.
  • Ability to effectively bridge cross-functional teams, and vendor teams to ensure successful delivery of the defined output.
  • Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

| Salary range
  • Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 to $117,046.
