1st Shift: Flexible start time between 5:00am - 7:00am

Primary Function:

The function of QC Mechanical Inspector has basic responsibility for implementing and maintaining quality standards, procedures and the protocol for the Quality Control functions which include Receiving Inspection and In-Process Inspection. Ensures that product is inspected and tested by company quality standards and the requirements as specified on Purchase Orders for incoming product through Vendors and In-Process Work Orders for product being manufactured In-Process (WIP).

Major Responsibilities:
  • Interprets blueprints, work orders, and other documentation to determine acceptance or rejection standards.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspection of first articles, assemblies, final product, and tooling, utilizing micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Ink stamping of sub-assembly and final assembly, CMM and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Documents inspection results, maintain records, and prepare reports.
  • Routes inspected parts to appropriate destination.
  • May perform source inspection at vendor sites.
  • May assist in training lower-level inspectors.
  • Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion. Works under acceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat or chemicals.
  • Perform QA audits as needed.
  • Follow directions and implement added scope objectives and activities outlined by QA management.

Education/Experience/Training:
  • Requires a high school diploma and/or a minimum of 5 to 8 years of consistent mechanical inspection experience.
  • Also requires advanced math aptitude including knowledge of trigonometry, knowledge of highly complex mil-specs, ability to read blueprints, and use of all types of measuring instruments.
  • Considering the complex interface with every functional organization it is very important to have excellent communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • It is flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
  • Able to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, and squat.
  • Able to occasionally push, and reach.
  • Able to move items up to 25 pounds for distances of up to 30 feet.
  • Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
  • Must have sufficient vision to see relative positions of small parts and able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
  • Based upon your job duties, and need to visit different areas within the company, you may be exposed to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role $61,000 - $113,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
