The salary range for this position is between $138,635 and $179,410 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. PCL combines numerous pay and benefit strategies to provide a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package. Any salary range displayed by a job board is an estimate. Your salary, which considers your unique qualifications and experience, is just one component of the robust total rewards you'll enjoy at PCL. Here's how a(n) Construction Risk Manager for our Denver office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Analyzes contract documents and specifications for hard bid / lump sum, construction management, and design-build projects to determine project requirements (bonding, insurance, etc.), and identifies risk factors, including the monitoring of published addenda that may alter original project scope.
- Develops win and fee strategy for medium-to-large projects, and reconciles throughout the project.
- Leads development of a conceptual estimate / design-build bid submission with added complexity for key clients.
- Develops and monitors pursuit schedule internally and externally.
- Manages trade contractor prequalification and recommendation process.
- Develops strategies as a basis for submitting budget proposals to ensure PCL's and the client's interests are protected. Participates in, and if required leads, ongoing budget updates.
- Participates in the initial cost report and structure preparation, enabling simple cost-code identification and tracking.
- Monitors ongoing project design development as the project progresses and monitors working drawings for control budget compatibility, completeness of drawings and details, constructability, life cycle issues, coordination, code compliance, trade-scope completeness, and cost.
- Monitors and controls design development and working drawing production to meet construction schedule.
- Post award, prepares a risk analysis report summarizing all potential risks; includes a mitigation plan and alternative means and methods to analyze identified risk items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
- 14 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating along with 12 months of on-site experience preferred.
- Successfully led pursuits in delivery model hard bid / lump sum, construction management / cost reimbursable / target price, and design-build.
- Experience working in a self-perform environment and with productivities.
- Design management experience.
- Understanding of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines, and is a district champion in these matters.
- Understanding of the contract terms for various delivery models and able to identify contract risks and opportunity.
- Experience estimating multiple self-perform work disciplines and overall knowledge of each (IND).
- Takes ownership in design and owner relationships and promotes partnering.
