The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world.

Job Summary:

The Transportation Analyst role has the unique opportunity to impact the business daily by partnering with Product Groups to use data analytics to uncover opportunities to improve transportation of their prime product to North American dealers.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead Projects: Use data analytics identify opportunities to reduce cost in the global transportation of Prime Product to North American dealers
  • Action Requests: Provide guidance to North American dealers on a wide range of questions and requests pertaining to the shipment of their product
  • Collaborate globally: Serve as a SME to Trade Lane Managers located in other regions of the world who are shipping product to dealers in North America, Dealer Representatives who are working alongside dealers to meet needs, and various other roles including Procurement, Load Planning, Cat Insurance Services, Compliance, and Heavy Haul Carriers.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Data skills (mine data): Harness power of data to make decisions
  • Decision Making, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Customer Service / Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships and effective communication with numerous groups inside and outside of Caterpillar.


What Would Set You Apart:
  • Strong communication skills, personal initiative, accountability, teamwork, and customer focus
  • Dealer Experience: Having worked with Caterpillar dealers
  • Project Experience: Ability to analyze large amounts of data and build reports / dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, and / or Salesforce) and then use the data to deliver cost saving solutions.
  • Compliance or Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of North American Transportation best practices and procedures
  • Logistics Experience: Knowledge of and experience with the movement of large-scale product from manufacturing facilities to dealer or customer sites (ground and ocean)

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
