Job Summary

Firefly has an exciting opportunity to join our growing marketing and communication team as a Communications Manager. This position will support Firefly's internal and external communications with a primary focus on ensuring clear, consistent, and timely communication across the organization. The ideal candidate has excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills and the ability to thrive and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The candidate should be prepared to roll up their sleeves and make an impact across a range of marketing and communications initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Firefly's internal communications strategy in collaboration with the Marketing Communication's director and vice president as well as extended leadership team.
  • Develop and distribute timely company-wide communications, such as organizational updates and important company news.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to support employee engagement events.
  • Collaborate with Firefly's program managers to ensure mission milestones are effectively communicated across the organization.
  • Help bring Firefly's values, goals, and updates to life, ensuring all employees are informed, connected, and engaged.
  • Support internal and external events, including guest operations for Firefly's launch, lunar, and on-orbit missions.
  • Support Firefly's external communication, including fielding media inquiries as requested by the Marketing and Communication director.
  • Support Firefly's speaking engagements, including tracking and fielding requests, and prepping spokespeople with presentation content and talking points.
  • Stay on top of budgets, timelines, and deadlines to meet Firefly's communications priorities.
  • Demonstrate measurable business impact based on the goals outlined for your communications initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or equivalent work or educational experience.
  • 7+ years' experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or public relations.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills required - including internal notices, speech writing, talking points, newsletters, flyers and press releases.
  • Proven experience with event management planning and execution.
  • Experience with strategic communication planning and campaigns implementation.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing external agencies and freelancers.
  • Highly proficient Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
