As Director, Engineering, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead and manage a team of engineers skilled in power systems, protection and controls, control systems, battery storage systems, and related software applications to design and implement innovative DER solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Sales in reviewing Proposals and developing relevant solutions and related costing that demonstrate the Rodan's value proposition.
- Ensure solutions are designed that meet the needs of Rodan's Customers.
- Ensure that the Engineering Program and Projects are delivered safely, with the highest quality, on time and on budget and within margin expectations.
- Develop capabilities in the team to deliver on the opportunities of today while preparing for the future.
- Identify and implement new or enhanced engineering service opportunities and solutions.
- Attract and develop top talent.
- Serve as a key member of the management team and provide input on overall business direction, foster a positive work culture, and strong collaboration with other functional leaders.
- Continuous learning and thought leadership while participating in industry events and organizations.
- Strong knowledge of power systems engineering and design.
- Experience in program and project management and client management.
- Possesses excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resourcefulness.
- 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, having managed engineering and technical staff, vendors, and projects.
- Must be registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
- PMI PMP designation is an asset.
- Strong understanding of North American electricity markets and the energy services sector (specifically demand response, distributed energy resources, and software/energy as a service).
- Powerful verbal and written communication skills utilizing various medium.
- Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada.
