Position Summary
This engineer works within a project* team. This engineer may also serve as a lead or project manager. The engineer uses experience and education to perform the types of engineering activities which are generally considered within the realm of electrical engineering and any other expertise that might be held by this particular individual. This engineer is expected to work and communicate well with other members, and provide leadership to the team to which he/she is assigned to meet the goals of the project*. As a senior individual, this engineer is expected to share expertise and advise or mentor other engineers to aid in their professional development, as well as build the core competency of the company's engineering department in general.
*Projects may include but are not limited to: Instrument Development, Manufacturing Support (Instrument, Reagent, or Disposable), Manufacturing Process Development (Instrument, Reagent, or Disposable).

Primary Duties
- General: uses experience and education to perform the types of engineering activities which are generally considered within the realm of electrical engineering.
- Description: Uses engineering concepts, company SOPs/WIDs, department SOPs/WIDs to solve moderate to complex electrical engineering problems.
- Works on: problems of moderate to significant scope and complexity. Generally works on a team with other engineers.
- Influence: May receive oversight from a Senior or Principal Engineer, may serve as a discipline lead on a project, may provide mentoring for level I/II engineers, receives mentoring from Senior and Principal Engineers.
- Compliance: Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics Quality System. Has working knowledge to technical standards for regulatory compliance, specifically UL, CE, wireless communications, and EMI/EMC.
- Makes design and technical decisions subject to review by Senior, Principal, other engineers, and engineering management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Training, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Equivalent.
- 5+ years experience required in related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Altium Designer
- Schematic Capture
- PCB Layout
- Analog Circuit Design
- Digital Circuit Design
- Control Systems
- HDL
- Multi-layer PCBAs
- High-speed design
- Soldering
- Circuit Debug
- Sensors/Transducers
- Displays
- Compliancy (CE, UL, FCC, RoHS)
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
