The Position

The Source to Settle (S2S) Global Process Owner (GPO) is responsible, in collaborative partnership with procurement and other business functions, for the end-to-end I definition, standardization, optimization and governance of the S2S process globally. This role serves as the single point of accountability for decisions pertaining to S2S process scope, documentation, performance metrics, control, continuous improvement, investments, and change management. The S2S GPO will be accountable for the efficient and effective design of the S2S processes, in alignment with Organon's strategic and operational priorities, and ensure the delivery organization is positioned for execution success.

Organon was launched as a new company in June 2021. Since launch, we have been working to achieve full process independence from our former parent company, including the implementation of our ERP system, Athena, which was completed in second quarter 2024. The GPO for S2S will be responsible for bridging this transition from singular focus on ERP implementation to establishing the steady-state baseline management and performance of the S2S process and ensuring a strong and sound foundation. This includes detailing the roles and responsibilities with key stakeholders (including Global Procurement (GPSM), Global Delivery Operations (GOO)), core process mapping, establishing performance standards (KPls) and measuring performance. Once this foundation has been cemented and the process stabilized, the S2S GPO will focus on driving standardization, technology process enablement and transformation of the S2S process globally to ensure that we accelerate efficiencies and deliver on the strategic priorities of the company. The primary responsibilities of the S2S GPO leader role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

  • Alignment with Strategy - once the current S2S process is stabilized and robust, the pathway to an improved future state can be set that is consistent with Organon's Strategy and GBS Operating Model, and aligned with Organon's finance strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - collaborate with GPSM, local market management, functional leads, and cross-functional teams to understand needs, gather input, communicate changes and performance, and ensure smooth implementation and simple, frictionless interaction with GDO teams. Actively participate as required on stakeholder Leadership Teams.


Ownership - across all regions, markets, operating entities and functions, understand the end-to-end process, its components, inputs, outputs, and interactions with other processes. Establish clear roles and responsibilities. Strive to deliver 'world class process' S2S experience for all stakeholders.

Design and Standardization - redesign, standardize, and optimize S2S process ensuring uniformity, efficiency and compliance. Develop, document and maintain process maps, relevant policies, controls and best practices. Lead efforts to streamline workflows, and eliminate redundancies to improve overall performance
  • Performance Measurement- establish key performance indicators (KPls) and service levels (SLAs), aligned with stakeholders' expectations, to measure the effectiveness of the S2S process. Track metrics related to process performance, quality, timeliness, and cost aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Governance - oversee adherence to S2S process, mitigate risks, and monitor implementation of standard requirements and performance, in alignment with leadership/advisory structure(s) and consistent with standards and statutory requirements.
  • Technology Enablement - explore available technologies relevant to S2S process. Set technology standard for S2S process and work closely with Business Technology (BT) to leverage technology to progressively transform process efficiency and effectiveness. Act as '2 in a box' Functional Process Owner for S2S enterprise process as part of the Athena Value Team. Partner with Business Technology (BT) - who holds the technology budget - to optimize spend based on business value.
  • Continuous Improvement - analyze process performance data and understand evolving business needs, identify areas for enhancement, and implement and embed changes to enhance efficiency, reduce coS2S, and deliver better outcomes.
  • People leadership & collaboration - foster an environment that promotes growth, collaboration and continuous improvement for an existing team who serve as sub-process owners. Set performance expectations, drive accountability and provide coaching. Build talent pipeline and succession bench strength. Collaborate as a peer with other GPOs across Organon to share best practices and support excellence in GPO leadership. Establish a thriving 'community of practice' of founders engaging with the process across the company who act as ambassadors, change champions and advisors.


The ideal S2S GPO leader will bring the following attributes and experience to the role:
  • Operational understanding and insights of how the S2S services and process(es) drive functional and organizational performance; deep intellectual curiosity and ability to translate insights into strategic and operational recommendations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven ability to proactively drive and implement transformational change in complex, global environment.
  • Proven record of deep business, vendors, customer and end-to-end process knowledge gained through hands-on participation in functional activities relevant to end-to-end S2S process (contracts, purchase orders, invoice processing, payments). Maintain up to date understanding of industry best practices relevant to S2S.
  • Knowledge of core technology systems relevant to S2S process, SAP S/4 HANA, Coupa, Concur, EDI; experience in driving technology-led transformation of processes.
  • International experiences necessary to navigate the complexities of conducting business and managing processes across multiple geographies, go-to market models and cultures.
  • Strong operational process design and improvement skills including understanding core methodologies (e.g., process mapping, Lean, Six Sigma) and change management principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, complex environment, deliver results and sustain change. Coalesces working teams to establish workplans, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage cross-functional workstreams.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical mindset with the ability to spot gaps and weaknesses in processes, analyze and interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with exceptional organizational savvy and EQ necessary to build enduring partnerships and lead through influence (not position) with cross-functional business leaders. Proven ability to effectively and proactively engage, guide and influence very diverse stakeholder community at all levels of the organization, including executive team. Maintain open mindset with ability to pivot and adapt as required to meet changing business and organizational needs, and external dynamics.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to develop compelling storylines and craft the clear prose and visuals necessary to bring clarity to complexity and communicate in a compelling way that is matched to the needs of a range of stakeholders.


Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree required in a field of study relevant to S2S scope.
  • Ten plus years of prior professional experience in local and regional/global roles covering areas relevant to S2S scope.
  • Minimum five years of management experience or experience directing cross-functional teams and people at different levels across an organization.
  • Fluency in English; other languages valued.


Role Location: Flexible (Americas/Europe). Must have the working hours flexibility necessary to accommodate global time zones, when required.
