We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Planning & Transportation Manager to lead and optimize our operational activities across various functional departments, distribution centers, and facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient receiving, storing, and shipping of materials and finished goods, while maintaining accountability and security through robust inventory control practices. As a Planning & Transportation Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic procedures to enhance departmental objectives and ensure seamless operational execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the operational activities of multiple workgroups within the planning and transportation function.
  • Analyze reports, records, and directives, and collaborate with managers and supervisors to gather essential data for planning activities.
  • Ensure materials are received from appropriate vendors, delivered to inventory, and made available to meet production schedules.
  • Supervise packaging specifications and timely shipping of finished goods.
  • Evaluate current procedures and practices, developing and implementing improved methods to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Provide work direction, resolve operational issues, and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and analyze costs, preparing budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Integrate activities and direction across multiple departments or districts within the same functional area.
  • Assist in the development of goals, performance standards, and metrics for the group, function, department, or district.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards for programs, products, and employee performance.
  • Manage employees from various disciplines within a related function, typically within a defined geographic area or country.
  • Make decisions impacting schedules and unit operations, with potential delays affecting overall business activities.
  • Communicate organizational and functional strategies, translating them into achievable functional goals.


Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience, with at least 4+ years in a management role.
  • Proven track record in managing complex operational issues requiring a deep understanding of organizational objectives.
  • Experience in integrating activities of multiple workgroups and disciplines to achieve results.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interact frequently with direct reports, customers, managers, and senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey organizational strategies and translate them into functional goals.

  • Decisions made in this role will directly impact schedules, unit operations, and medium-term organizational goals.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,600 - $176,000
