About the Role
As the Vice President of Communications, you will develop and lead Wonder's external communications, and manage the external partners who support this effort. With an eye toward driving awareness and building a trusted brand, you will create and implement Wonder's comms strategy, collaborating with the broader marketing team, internal stakeholders and external partners. As someone with strong relationships across both consumer entertainment and business media, you will own Wonder's media relations, managing all PR/Comms media output and tracking the impact. A brilliant communicator, you will expertly craft and position narratives that will accrue value to the brand, to our leadership team and to our projects. About the Role
As the Vice President of Communications, you will develop and lead Wonder's external communications, and manage the external partners who support this effort. Day to Day
- Drive brand awareness and build brand equity for Wonder Project, its content offerings, its executive team and its mission
- Create and execute external communications strategies and plans that will inspire a broad consumer audience to watch Wonder content, and enhance Wonder's B2B facing corporate identity
- Manage external comms partners to hit goals and objectives. Oversee budgets. Define and report on objectives and key result metrics
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, influencers and journalists to maximize opportunities for visibility and awareness, and to ensure that Wonder presents a compelling and positive brand story
- Create and execute a strategy to build Wonder's B2B facing profile and enhance the visibility of its leadership team, positioning Wonder as an innovator via curated and goals-oriented press and speaking engagements
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote and generate excitement for Wonder content and talent, with the end goal of driving viewership and engagement
- Work closely with Wonder partners, internal and external, including production companies, content partners, marketing partners and distribution partners among others, to craft and deliver unified, consistent messaging
- Manage high-profile events including content launches, panels, premieres, conferences, trade and/or consumer events
- Develop, own and implement best practices, processes and standards for external comms, including crisis communication processes and response plans
- Spearhead award campaigns, and position Wonder with key industry organizations, guilds and governing bodies, and at key conferences, festivals and industry events
The Ideal Candidate
- 8-10+ years in comms/PR at an entertainment, media and/or streaming company, with at least 3 in senior leadership
- Has in-depth knowledge of and experience in the entertainment/premium content industry, and knows how to craft and deliver messaging that excites and motivates consumers to act. Has a proven record of success
- Has deep knowledge of and relationships with a wide range of media outlets, journalists and influencers, as well as contacts across the entertainment industry
- Is an expert in both consumer-facing and business/corporate communications
- Has experience building and maintaining a brand of integrity that is widely trusted and respected
- Has experience building successful communications campaigns across goth premium content streaming and theatrical film
- Demonstrates excellent leadership skills including strategic thinking, analytical ability, organization, project management, discretion, integrity, collaboration, team management and team-building
- Thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. A nimble thinker who can adapt and innovate, and who recognizes and can capitalize on opportunities quickly
- Is a superb communicator - written and verbal, and, importantly, can guide others (executives, talent, partners) to communicate effectively and impactfully
- Is forward thinking and creative, with strong interpersonal skills
- Past work experience in faith entertainment or an authentic connection to Wonder's core audience a plus
- Agency experience a plus
