Position Overview:
Trinity IT is seeking a curious, creative, and analytical Data Scientist I to join our contract supporting the US Navy. You will work with large structured and unstructured datasets to support mission-critical decision-making.
This position is contingent on contract award.
This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply techniques and analytical models to process and analyze raw data.
- Use data mining, data modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) to extract patterns and insights from diverse data sources.
- Create and maintain dynamic dashboards and data reports using visualization tools.
- Interpret and communicate data findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Write and implement test plans and scripts for data science applications.
- Support software integration and testing efforts in analytics workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Active SECRET clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or software testing.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages, such as Python or R, and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics.
- Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analysis objectives.
- Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn.
- Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.
