Salary Range: $139,838.40 - $145,000
Clearance: SECRET

Position Overview:

Trinity IT is seeking a curious, creative, and analytical Data Scientist I to join our contract supporting the US Navy. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about transforming complex data into actionable insights using modern data science tools and techniques. You will work with large structured and unstructured datasets to support mission-critical decision-making.

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply techniques and analytical models to process and analyze raw data.
  • Use data mining, data modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) to extract patterns and insights from diverse data sources.
  • Create and maintain dynamic dashboards and data reports using visualization tools.
  • Interpret and communicate data findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write and implement test plans and scripts for data science applications.
  • Support software integration and testing efforts in analytics workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or software testing.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages, such as Python or R, and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics.
  • Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analysis objectives.
  • Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn.
  • Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.
