To lead and transform the Internal Audit function at IO, providing independent, objective assurance and advice designed to add value and improve the organization's operations. Collaborate with the Executive team and the Audit and Risk Committee to help the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.

Vice President, Internal Audit

What You Will Do:
- Lead the internal audit function, including the development of strategies and procedures for internal audit engagements.
- Develop and prioritize an annual Internal Audit Plan and CEO/CFO Certification Plan.
- Deliver the audit process end-to-end, including maintaining a robust audit program.
- Enhance audit tools, processes, and reporting.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to a team of audit professionals.
- Communicate audit results to the Audit and Risk Committee, CEO, and Executive team.
- Represent the Internal Audit function in in-camera sessions.
- Provide assurance on governance, risk management, and control processes.
- Advise the Executive team on risk/improvement areas.
- Manage the relationship with the Auditor General Office (AGO).
- Contribute to staff development and prioritize system enhancements.
- Lead the selection and implementation of audit tools.
- Build a culture of risk management and accountability.
- Build a high-impact, high-performance team.
What We Are Looking For:
- University degree with a professional designation (CIA, CISA, CA, CMA, CGA, CRM), or advanced degree (MBA). Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is preferable.
- Sound knowledge of accounting, auditing, and risk management principles (ISO 31000 or COSO 2013); audit practices and procedures and relevant auditing standards.
- Knowledge of the public sector risk and audit environment and audit software tools.
- Significant experience in direct internal audit, leading teams, and managing objectives.
- Experience in applying risk-based methodologies, critical thinking, and independent judgment.
- Proven track record in risk management methodologies, solutions, and best practices.
- Experience presenting to executive management and Board level committees.
- Experience working with the AGO is an asset.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and lead high-performance teams.
