The Role

We are seeking a Head of People to lead our talent, recruiting, and culture strategy, ensuring we maintain and enhance the values that make us who we are. The Head of People will be a key strategic partner to leadership who is passionate about recruiting, developing and retaining talent at every level while building builders.

What you will accomplish

Recruiting
  • Build upon and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy to attract top talent across all levels.
  • Lead and support the team responsible for recruiting experienced professionals from the industry and early-career talent through the university program.
  • Leverage innovative sourcing and hiring strategies to ensure Willmeng attracts and retains the best talent in construction.
  • Own our intern program to fuel the future.


Employee Experience
  • Strengthen and nurture a people-first culture that aligns with our core values and unconventional approach to employee engagement.
  • Develop programs that prioritize employee well-being, mental health, and work-life balance.
  • Create initiatives that promote connection, recognition, and retention across the organization.

Talent Development
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational design and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Foster leadership development at all levels, ensuring employees have opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Partner with managers to create career pathways that align with company goals and employee aspirations.
  • Champion a coaching and mentorship culture that empowers employees to grow within the organization.

People Strategy & Business Practices
  • Ensure alignment of people-related practices with business objectives, fostering a high-performance environment.
  • Establish fair and competitive compensation and benefits programs that support employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide guidance on workplace standards, aligning policies with company values and legal requirements.
  • Optimize HR systems and processes to improve efficiency and employee experience.

What we would like you to have

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR, people operations, leadership development, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology, Communication, Education or related is required. An MBA or masters in related discipline is desired.
  • Experience in construction, trades, or field-based industries is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative talent, leadership, and culture programs.
  • Experience with technology and systems implementation to optimize people operations.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
