Position Summary:
The IT Modernization Consultant II supports the planning and implementation of modernization initiatives, including sustainment of existing IT systems and adoption of cloud-native services. This role supports the evaluation and transformation of legacy systems, integration of innovative technologies, and alignment of IT delivery with enterprise performance goals. The consultant also provides advisory input on sustainment strategies and modernization roadmaps.

Position Summary:
The IT Modernization Consultant II supports the planning and implementation of modernization initiatives, including sustainment of existing IT systems and adoption of cloud-native services. This role supports the evaluation and transformation of legacy systems, integration of innovative technologies, and alignment of IT delivery with enterprise performance goals. The consultant also provides advisory input on sustainment strategies and modernization roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recommendations for modernization of legacy IT services, applications, and infrastructure.
- Support the design of sustainment strategies that balance innovation, cost, and risk.
- Collaborate with IT operations and architecture teams to align modernization with business goals.
- Analyze system performance and usage to inform optimization and retirement strategies.
- Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement, and governance documentation.
- Participate in development of modernization roadmaps and cross-functional delivery coordination.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- Cloud Fundamentals Certification (AWS, Azure, OCI)
- Certification in Artificial Intelligence
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-ACP
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience supporting federal IT modernization and legacy system sustainment.
- 1+ year of experience in implementing AI/Gen AI engagement at Government agencies.
- Experience leading enterprise-level IT systems development and sustainment for the Federal government, including inter-connected IT system transitions, modernizations, acquisitions, and transformations.
- Hands-on experience in roles such as software sustainment, IT modernization, or IT project management are essential.
