Summary: The Senior Category Manager is responsible for the strategic purchasing of the Meat & Broths category for Custom Culinary and North America. This individual contributor role focuses on sustainable material sourcing, category management, negotiations, supplier relationship management, and contract management, all critical for supporting Custom Culinary' s growth and innovation. This role serves as the primary Purchasing contact for the Custom Culinary team and will interphase closely with the broader Purchasing team to support ongoing Custom Culinary initiatives. This position is a member of the Custom Culinary Leadership Team, who plays a pivotal part in shaping strategic direction and decision-making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing supplier relationships in conjunction with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Finance, and Customer Service).
- Negotiating and managing strategic contracts that include an emphasis on quality, service, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
- Development and management of the budgetary process and the associated Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to assure an optimized cost of use for the Meats & Broths category.
- Act as the primary Purchasing point of contact for Custom Culinary, ensuring seamless integration with the broader Purchasing team to support ongoing Custom Culinary initiatives.
- Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment of purchasing strategies with business goals and contributing to the broader leadership team objectives.
- Drive process solutions and have strong project management skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree; Master's a plus.
- 10 years' experience in Purchasing, Sourcing or Category Management.
- Proficient knowledge of sourcing processes and sourcing practices.
- Strong knowledge in the categories of Meats and Broths.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across geography and functions to influence from the top to the bottom of an organization.
- Strong skills in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including influencing cross-functional stakeholders and functional leaders.
- Strong analytical and Excel knowledge (Power Pivot/Power BI, Cost Models, etc.).
- Proven negotiation experience and cross functional project management skills.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all decision-making processes.
- Ability to effectively work remotely and travel to other regions.
- Must be able to speak English; bilingual a plus (English and Spanish).
- Professional certification a plus (CPIM/APICS/CPM).
- Must be able to travel 10%.
